Two upcoming movies that I am excited for

Frozen 2 (November 22)

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS MOVIE. This one and Avengers: Endgame are the two movies I’ve been most excited for this year. I loved Frozen. It was so good. I don’t remember exactly, but I think I might have cried for the entire end of that movie. Even my dad liked it! It’s one of my all-time favorite Disney movies and one of my all-time favorite movies, period.

I have a good feeling about it being a strong sequel because it’s been so long between this one and the first one. It reminds of Incredibles 2. Well, that’s kind of a stretch because Incredibles 2 came out fourteen years after the first one, and Frozen 2 will only be six years later, but close enough. They didn’t just quickly manufacture another movie to make money after they saw how successful the original was.

Another thing I’m excited for about Frozen 2 doesn’t have to do exactly with the movie itself. It has to do with all the little kids who were obsessed with Frozen when it first came out. Now they’re six years older and will probably be in middle school or maybe high school. And then there’s also the parents who had to watch Frozen twenty times and listen to Let it Go on repeat and buy all the merch. They will now be parents of teenagers. Haha, I wonder what memories Frozen 2 is going to bring up. And what new memories it will create.

Ahhh wait, I bet there’s going to be a new round of obsessed little kids! Hahaha, this is too good. Ohh, I wonder if there will be another hit song. Dude, it’s going to be really disappointing if this movie is a complete flop. Or even if it’s subpar. It basically has to be good.

Also, when I saw the movie lists at the beginning of the year, it said that Frozen 2 was supposed to come out on November 27, but I wondered if they moved it up to get all the 2’s?

Little Women (December 25)

Okay, I actually have never read Little Women, the book. I’ve tried, trust me, but it’s just so long and in my opinion, not that interesting. It’s kind of boring. But last year, my school put on Little Women as the spring musical, and it was so good. I cried multiple times. It finally made some sense why the people who get together in the end get together. (I’m not going to say who because it’s an absolute spoiler, but you know who I’m talking aabout.)

I think this will be a case in which I like the adaptation better than the original. I have confidence that this movie is going to be good because the director is Greta Gerwig. She directed the movie Ladybird, which might sound familiar. It came out in 2017 and won a slew of awards I think. I heard about it a bunch from people at school and online too. (To be more specific, I heard about Timothe-with an accent-e Chalamet.) I love that she decided to go for a classic right after directing a movie she wrote.

Also, Emma Watson is Meg!

What are you favorite Disney movies?
What’s a classic movie you would want to remake or see remade? Please someone make Percy Jackson again.

  1. Omg I saw frozen 2 and it’s amazing!! The songs are still stuck in my head and are very catchy!! Little woman however is apparently a good book I’ve never read it but heard great reviews so I’m sure the movie will be good too🧡xx

    1. Agh, I still haven’t watched it yet! It’s on my list for this week :)) Ohhh, nice. I have one friend who’s been listening to the soundtrack on repeat. I’ve never fully read Little Women either! (To be honest, I thought it was boring.) But yes, I’ve heard good things about the movie as well!

  2. I hope that both of these movies are good. But I have a penchant for having unreasonably high expectations that make disappointment almost unavoidable in most cases. It’s weird how long it’s been since Frozen came out because I still feel like it came out one or two years ago for some reason. I must be getting old.
I really like Tangled, Aladdin, Meet the Robinsons, Beauty and the Beast…. okay there are a lot of Disney movies that I really like. Frozen is on the list, but it’s not at the top. “Do you Wanna Build a Snowman?” always makes me cry though.
YES. Someone needs to remake Percy Jackson and do it right.

    1. I don’t have high expectations for Little Women, but they do somewhat exist for Frozen 2. Yes, it does feel like Frozen just came out! Even though it’s actually been five. I feel like Frozen 2 might be continuing a trend Pixar started with Incredibles 2 (and I guess Toy Story 4 but we don’t have to talk about that)-late sequels.
Oh, I haven’t watched Meet the Robinsons! YES, I LOVE Tangled. I mean, she has a frying pan as a weapon. A chameleon. Super cool painted walls. Friends from a pub. And Eugene! Both his names are cool-Eugene and Flynn Ryder. And wow, it’s crazy that songs have the power to do that.
      I KNOW.

      1. WHAT. You haven’t seen Meet the Robinsons??? I guess it’s weirdly obscure by Disney movie standards. I guess people think it’s weird? And it is??? But it’s also beautiful and I love it so much. I don’t think it gets enough credit.
Yeah, I really love what they did with Rapunzel’s character in Tangled. Her painted walls are really neat. And I love Flynn/Eugene. 🙂

        1. No, I haven’t!! Haha, weirdly obscure Disney movie sounds like an oxymoron. Okay, I just realized that Meet the Robinsons is on Netflix, so cool. What do you love about it?
          YES, goooo Tangled.

          1. Yeah, “obscure” and “Disney” don’t really seem like they belong in the same sentence, do they? Nothing Disney is truly obscure, but there are some things that are obscure by Disney standards.
Wow, let’s see. I love how wacky the characters are, but they still feel human- at least the main ones do. Lewis and Wilbur are awesome characters, and I relate to both of them even though they are completely different. It’s really funny, but also emotional enough to make me tear up at the end. I love that combination. I have also been watching it sense I was a kid, so there’s the nostalgia element as well.
